The Cooperative Organization of Nebraska Educational Service Units Chooses PowerMediaPlus.com as the Media-on-Demand Solution for the State (April 27, 2006)
After Extensive Review, the System Has Been Selected to Provide Digital Media and Curriculum Integration Tools to 350,000 Educators and Students
Chicago, IL (April 27, 2006)— CLEARVUE & SVE, along with the Cooperative Organization of Nebraska Educational Service Units (CONESU), announced today that they have reached an agreement to provide the PowerMediaPlus.com media-on-demand solution to 300 school districts and 1,300 campuses in Nebraska. Covering the entire state, the partnership opens access to the rich media and curriculum integration tools of the site to 325,000 students and 25,000 educators in Pre-K through grade 12 public, charter, and private schools.
Being pioneers in adopting video-on-demand technology, individual ESUs in Nebraska have utilized competing services for years. Recognizing the advantages of a cooperative purchase, the Nebraska Instructional Materials (IMat) group began an extensive product review process on behalf of the CONESU. PowerMediaPlus.com was chosen as the superior service and was awarded the bid covering all Educational Service Units.
"We clearly see the value media brings to improving student performance," said Germaine Johnson, President of the IMat group for the CONESU. " The Nebraska Instructional Materials group is excited about implementing PowerMediaPlus.com for statewide teacher and student utilization. Reviewers found the site to be teacher-friendly, searchable by Nebraska Standards, and filled with rich media covering the core curriculum. The system also provides tools for educators to easily integrate a variety of content into their everyday lessons, and titles are indexed to allow for simple downloading and embedding into programs such as PowerPoint."
The state's educators and students now have access to the system's extensive content across all media types—videos, core concept clips, audio files, images, and print resources. The custom delivery configuration combines both Internet-delivered media and locally hosted content to best accommodate users' varied technology and bandwidth availability. Nebraska-owned media will be uploaded to the system for seamless integration within the site, enabling statewide search and delivery to the classroom. Users have access to the system at both school and home.
"We're thrilled to announce our agreement with CONESU's IMat group to provide PowerMediaPlus.com to every K-12 classroom in Nebraska ," said Mark Ventling, President, CLEARVUE & SVE. "This partnership and our other agreements covering millions of users across the country illustrate how customers are seeking a leading-edge media solution, cementing our position as the innovator in educational content delivery and integration."
