Daily Deskercise: November 17, 2008
Generates healthy habits for the body and mind using exercises designed for the classroom. The program begins as Slim Goodbody and friends visit the state of Alabama and its capital, Montgomery. While in this southern state, Slim points out fun outdoor activities in which visitors can partake, including hiking through Little River Canyon National Preserve, watching a stock car race, and enjoying a beach on the Gulf of Mexico. In celebration of Children’s Book Week, a time to celebrate and appreciate the many wonderful books that enhance imagination and knowledge, Slim builds and strengthens muscles by interacting with famous story characters, climbing the beanstalk with Jack, painting a fence with Tom Sawyer, and galloping with the Knights of the Round Table. A social health tip concludes the program by emphasizing the importance of being nice to other children.
